Sir, – Last weekend in your online edition you published a lovely picture of my mother, Stella Hill, attending the Islandbridge memorial ceremony, along with a fellow second World War veteran from Leopardstown Park Hospital.
I can understand her perhaps telling the photographer that she was 88 years of age (as described in the caption), but I can tell you that she is, in fact, well over 95! If they had done the sums, I’d hate to think that your readers suspected that she was telling porkies about her war service! – Yours, etc,
