On Tuesday afternoon, following weeks of anticipation and speculation, Minister for Finance Paschal Donohoe and Minister for Public Expenditure Michael McGrath revealed the Government’s €11 billion worth of measures for Budget 2023.
But will the Government’s spending measures for next year, including a €4.1 billion package of cost-of-living measures which will start kicking in within weeks, really make a difference in people’s daily lives, particularly those genuinely struggling to make ends meet, put food on the table and pay energy bills? Is enough being done to tackle the soaring inflation facing this country over the next year?
