This new vacuum cleaner is the end for dust-busting moves

There is no downward dog pose needed to get into every corner of the room with the Bosch Unlimited 7 cordless vacuum cleaner, says yoga instructor Anna Pfeifer. It is your flexible friend

Yoga teacher Anna Pfeifer of Tilt Yoga extolls the joys of finding a vacuum as adaptable as she is.

As a vinyasa yoga instructor, Anna is no stranger to flexibility. Having worked in media for years, Anna decided to bite the bullet during Covid and made the stretch to teaching this form of manoeuvre full-time.

“My kind of practice is a little bit different,” she admits. “It’s vinyasa style, combining dynamic movement, using your breath while moving, and lots of mobility work.” Essentially, this is how many of us would describe how we vacuum our homes - it’s physical work, a lot of bending, stretching, and plenty of effort. “Before, I would have agreed with you,” Anna laughs. “Thankfully, this vacuum is far more flexible than that.”

Anna is referring to the Bosch Unlimited 7 cordless vacuum cleaner, the newest addition to her Dublin apartment. “I work with many clients online from home,” she explains. “That means I spend a lot of time on my apartment floor. Yes, I have a yoga mat, but because I am focused on floorwork, my eye line is inevitably underneath furniture and corners of my home that most people never spend time looking at. It can be pretty distracting when those spaces are dirty, or I can see dust.”

Say namaste to corner cobwebs. Anna is pictured here with the Bosch Unlimited 7 BCS712GB ProHome. This product comes with two 18 volt battery packs. Available from all good electrical retailers from €379.00.

Having tested it at home for a week she is surprised how lightweight it is. “I was so used to lugging a heavy vacuum around that I couldn’t believe how easy it was to use. I found myself pulling it out for a quick clean before I hosted an online session to make sure nothing on the floor is going to distract me,” she laughs.

The appliance can rest on surfaces and stand upright without support – handy if you get distracted by a call

With its multiple accessories, the Unlimited 7 vacuum is designed to clean almost anywhere, from under the sofa to the four corners of the ceiling. Its foot release allows users to easily detach the nozzle from the tube and replace it with other attachments. Anna has been making good use of the crevice and long flexible crevice options for effective cleaning in hard-to-reach places - no downward dog pose needed.

‘I’ve finally found a vacuum as flexible as I am’

To vacuum under the bed usually requires a lot of uncomfortable stretching and reaching but she found its flex tube allowed her to clean under low furniture without bending down. “This thing can really throw shapes! The shaft of the Bosch literally bends in two, so my back isn’t broken, bending over under the bed or sofa, which is always a good thing in my books.”

It is sold with multiple heads designed for specialist jobs such as skirting boards and picture frames

Space is at a premium for apartment dweller Anna. The Unlimited 7 doesn’t need to be placed in its docking station or on the floor when not in use. It has been designed with a built-in easy parking clip that secures it to a table, shelf, or the back of a chair. As Anna hasn’t yet mounted her wall dock, this feature has been particularly welcome. “Besides the fact that it’s so malleable and bendy, it’s compact and easy to store away. I love that I can grab it when I need it and then store it quickly. It makes cleaning intuitive.”

While perfecting sun salutations and executing a low plank are Anna’s fields of expertise, having to spend time figuring out how to use a cleaning appliance is not on her to-do list. “I didn’t even read the instructions,” she shrugs. “It’s effortless to use, fits seamlessly into my life and makes what is usually a laborious chore easy and efficient.”

The premium Unlimited 7 ProHome comes with two battery packs, which gives you a runtime of up to 80 minutes - 40 minutes per battery. Having the second battery means I never get stuck without being able to clean before a class,” Anna says.

But for neat freaks with large homes to clean it is good to know that its Power For All battery has been engineered to use cross-brand. It is compatible with Bosch cordless drills and many other Bosch Home and Graden cordless tools.

Before she leaves Tilt Yoga studio and heads home to start an evening of online classes, Anna says she now breathes a sigh of relief. “I’m at an age where I can get excited about a really good vacuum,” she smiles.

“Having a clean space helps me to stay focused. My apartment is white - I’m talking white floors and off-white walls, so those skirting boards show up every speck. Having a tool that helps me clear those nooks and crannies has been a game changer.”

After ten years of practice and now a successful career helping others find their poise, does Anna feel as though she’s met her match? “Absolutely,” she laughs. “I’ve finally found a vacuum as flexible as I am.” tiltyoga.ie
