Secrets of success: what makes a great ad campaign?

We talk to ADFX nominees ahead of Thursday's awards to find out what makes a winning campaign work

The IAPI ADFX Awards honour the most effective advertising campaigns that appeared in the Irish market. ADFX Awards are based on proven impact and promote the role of advertising as an effective element in the marketing process.

Ahead of ADFX 2016, the biennial awards ceremony celebrating advertising campaigns that deliver real results, we asked some nominees what they believe is the secret to a winning ad campaign.

Launched in 1996, by the Institute of Advertising Practitioners in Ireland (IAPI), ADFX sets out to reward the contribution of its members and the impact of their work. The application process is gruelling, requiring a lengthy written entry that scrutinises the multiple aspects of a campaign and how it measures results. The winners have to demonstrate that their campaigns are built on strategic thinking, impactful creative execution and measurable business effects.
