The facilities management sector is one of the fastest growing segments of the Irish economy and is worth more than €1.2 billion to the economy. This dynamic sector has been celebrated at the Facilities Management Awards for seven years now, since the Awards were established in 2014.

The winners at the 2021 Awards were announced to a live audience at a virtual ceremony on Thursday, April 29th. The comedian and broadcaster Colm O'Regan presided, and the judging panel was led by John Cunniffe, the estate services manager at The Bar of Ireland.

It was great to see how the finalists came together to tell their positive stories and how the event adapted to the times

As ever, the awards were supported by a variety of loyal sponsors, one of which was Aramark Ireland. Shane Flynn, their managing director, said, “We were proud to again be a sponsor for the Facilities Management Awards for 2021. The last year has been exceptionally challenging for facilities management professionals in so many ways, but it has also highlighted the importance of this industry in maintaining a safe working environment. Congratulations to all involved and a special well done to the winners.”

Another of this year’s sponsors was Tork at Essity. David Norton, their key account manager, said, ‘’Tork at Essity were delighted once again to be a key sponsor to the Facilities Management Awards for 2021. Because we work closely within this sector, we understand how exceptionally challenging it has been this year for facilities management professionals. We are delighted that our dispensing systems were able to improve hand hygiene in many managed sites across Ireland and indeed globally.
