Facilities Management Awards 2019 shortlist packed with talent

After another year of huge growth within the sector, the sixth annual Facilities Management Awards will take place on January 31st, 2019

2018 Facilities Management Award winners

With an estimated worth in Ireland of €1.2bn, the facilities management sector has enjoyed rapid growth in recent years, and with annual global growth forecast of 11 per cent, it’s an industry that is showing no signs of slowing down.

The Facilities Management Awards return to celebrate another successful 12 months for Irish companies, small and large, who have been excelling. The talent on this year’s shortlist is indicative of the progress that is being made within the sector, as technological advances lead us into a new and sustainable landscape.

Hygiene company Tork confirmed as headline sponsor

This will be the first time that professional hygiene company, Tork, has been the headline sponsor. “We have supported the Irish FM Awards many times in the past and we now feel the time is right to step up as headline sponsor,” says Tork sales director Ireland, Liam Smith. “Our products and systems are an ideal fit with the FM sector, and we’re delighted to be aligning ourselves with this prestigious event.”

Essity offers professional hygiene products and services to hotels, restaurants, healthcare facilities, offices, schools, retail centres and other facilities under the Tork brand. Sold in more than 80 countries, Tork products include dispensers, paper towels, toilet tissue, soap, napkins and industrial and kitchen wipers.

2019 shortlist and sponsorships

The Facilities Management Awards is the largest gathering of key senior decision-makers from within the industry. The night provides an opportunity for peers and industry leaders to network and catch up to reflect on their contribution to Irish facilities management.

Lily Ellis, EMEA account director within JLL, leads this year’s judging panel and she was hugely complimentary of those who have been nominated: “The calibre of entries is truly reflective of the exceptional work FM professionals complete on projects ranging from the National Development Plan, to residential and global technology clients. The level of competition increases annually and demonstrates that Irish FM’s are setting the highest standards and adding considerable value at a c-suite level.”

Leading the way in nominations, CBRE Global Workplace Solutions was enthusiastic about their presence on the shortlist. Their managing director, Darren Rennie, says:“CBRE are thrilled to be shortlisted in five categories at the FM Awards, and look forward to the opportunity to network, collaborate and celebrate with the best of the FM Industry in Ireland.”

Shortlisted in the FM Professional of the Year and FM Professional of the Year categories, Aramark Workplace Solutions is also one of the proud sponsors of this year’s event. Paul Guy, their head of marketing, said, “The Facilities Management Awards is the premier awards programme for benchmarking excellence within Ireland's FM industry and I am delighted that Aramark has been recognised and Ray Taylor has been shortlisted for FM Professional of the Year. The awards recognise those that have made a positive contribution to the knowledge, practical application and communication of strategies to improve the sustainable performance of their premises, while adding to the core value of their clients’ business.”

Fellow Facilities Management Awards 2019 sponsor Synergy Security Solutions see the awards as a means of further developing their business and networking. "Synergy Security Solutions are delighted to sponsor the Facility Management awards, allowing us to build deeper strategic relationships in FM, pioneering innovation and offering our customers optimum levels of service, quality and cost. We wish all nominees the very best of luck and look forward to celebrating industry success,” Synergy Security Solutions’ co-owner and managing director Ken O'Reilly said.
