Leading peers of HR community are registering for Rewards & Benefits Summit

Peer-driven content, insight and debate provide real-world learning for HR practitioners at this unique annual event

Roundtable discussion at Rewards & Benefits Summit 2018

The annual Rewards & Benefits Summit takes place on November 19th at Croke Park Stadium, Dublin and will, once again, provide a platform for the HR profession to enjoy curated, focused meetings where they set the agenda.

Eugene Bortolozzo, chief executive of BusinessRiver (the organiser of the event), said; "the summit is really special because all the content is generated by the peer attendees themselves. This means that everyone who invests time through coming, gets tailored content from other peers on pre-agreed subject matter.

"Unlike the old conference model, where you have experts talking down to an audience, here you have peers informing and educating each other."

These discussions will be fully explored during the interactive round-table sessions, which were hugely successful at last year's event

A major part of the summit is that there are no keynote speakers. Instead, BusinessRiver works with a leading peer who takes on the role of summit leader. This year the honour falls to Simon Hand, head of reward and recognition at Vodafone.

"It’s a real pleasure to take on the role of summit leader for Ireland’s second annual Rewards & Benefits Summit. My role will be to work with fellow Rewards & Benefits professionals to identify the key themes for the event. This will enable us to highlight the main challenges and opportunities facing the Rewards & Benefits community, and agree how best to meet them. These discussions will be fully explored during the interactive round-table sessions, which were hugely successful at last year’s event."

Last year the summit drew practitioners from more than 100 large employers in Ireland and was quickly endorsed as a valuable new forum for senior HR leaders.

Caroline Madden: Senior manager, Regional C&B EMEA, Western Union

“I have to say I found the event very informative and insightful. I thoroughly enjoyed the round-table discussions, there were some very creative and innovative reward programmes out there. Everyone was transparent about their programmes and the positives and negatives of them all.”

Ian Quirke: Compensation & Benefits manager, Aer Lingus

“Overall, I thought the summit was much needed, well run, informative and the peer-led element created an effective forum for discussing the topics. And I thought this was the key part in making the day effective ... it revealed some insights as peers were willing to speak honestly.”

Caroline Keenan: Europe Benefits manager VP, CITI

"I really found it very interesting and I did like the peer-led discussions gave everyone the opportunity to discuss ideas in a comfortable setting and garner some tips along the way. Also a great networking event."

The inaugural summit was supported by Aon and Utmost, who worked with the practitioners as peers, taking part in round-table discussions on the subject matter to hand.

Ian Thornton, managing director at Aon said; “The Rewards & Benefits Summit was the first of its kind event in Ireland that brought together total reward, HR and benefits professionals, as well as industry experts and thought leaders, to discuss current and future trends in the Irish market and beyond. The event was a huge success and enabled practitioners from the HR community to participate in peer-led discussions, listen to thought leaders and attend interactive masterclass sessions. As platinum sponsor, Aon was delighted to work closely with BusinessRiver on bringing this inaugural event to the Irish market. The summit provided Aon the opportunity to celebrate the reward and benefits community in Ireland with clients, but also network with and hear from other employers about their challenges and opportunities.”

Also commenting was the head of Utmost Corporate Solutions, Michelle Leahy, she said; “As a leading provider of employee benefits to domestic and multinational companies, we were delighted to be a key partner of the Rewards & Benefits Summit. We are passionate about group risk, and it was fantastic to be able to facilitate such enthusiasm from the attendees in sharing ideas and learning best practices. We look forward to continuing our commitment to HR professionals who are so influential in shaping the landscape of the modern workforce environment.”

Attendance to the summit is by invitation only.

You cannot book into this event so you have to be invited by BusinessRiver. We work with our community from the HR Leadership and Management Awards, inviting peers who have similar profiles. Ensuring the right mix is key, hence the invitation only model.
