Citymart.com connects cities with innovative solutions to urban problems. Currently, 90 per cent of the world’s metropolitan governments don’t publicise the issues they face. Citymart works with cities to publish their requirements – allowing markets to listen, act and invest. Through the Calls For Solutions process, cities go through a 12-month cycle from articulating a need to overseeing a completed pilot. Over 70 such calls have been published to date, resulting in free mobility for the visually impaired in Stockholm, intelligent traffic sensors in Barcelona, 1,500 smart homes in Taipei, and many others. In partnership with Dublin City Council and the UNDP, Citymart have launched Cities Pilot to End Poverty, recruiting 30 cities to run a Call For Solutions and meet solution providers at an event in Dublin in 2014.
