Because philanthropists and private investors may not be in a position to gauge which projects would best serve those they are trying to help, Genio provides opportunities that offer value for money and lasting impact, helping governments transition to person-centred and cost-effective approaches.
By developing a deep understanding of each field and encouraging innovation, programmes are scaled through financial support and evidence of what is most effective.
Central to Genio’s work is moving care from institutional facilities back to peoples’ own home and communities, providing greater independence and social inclusion, with evidence showing this to be less expensive than the institutional model.
Currently supporting over 150 programmes and 17,000 people in the fields of disability, mental health and older people with dementia, Genio is now exploring projects focused on children.
