For once, the sun played a starring role in this year’s annual Society of Chartered Surveyors Ireland tennis tournament, at Lansdowne Tennis Club, on September 4th. The clement weather attracted a bumper entry of 15 teams and 60 players, including a number of new teams coming along to join the annual stalwarts.

The standard of tennis was excellent, culminating in a semifinal line-up of Savills versus Independent Valuations and Law Society versus CBRE. Savills won out, while the Law Society and CBRE finished level. Games were counted back and CBRE took the edge over the Law Society.

The final between Savills and CBRE provided a real treat, with both the mens and ladies combinations producing some enthralling tennis. But Savills led the charge and took the final honours to walk away with the Irish Times-sponsored Perpetual Trophy.
