John & Margaret Greene

Winners of a National Category Award for Lowest SCC/Best Udder Health

John believes the cows and calves on his farm are a contented and happy lot. “My farming ethos is to produce milk for people I will never know at a level of quality equal I would present to my own family,” says John.

He and his wife Margaret with daughter Julie are the 6th generation of the family at Greenville. "I am merely a custodian of the land for the time that I have it until I pass it on to my daughter who can make her improvements and continue making the farm a sustainable business for her children to come."

He is very conscious of best practices in relation to the environment, sustainability and animal welfare and is registered with the Sustainability Dairy Assurance Scheme and REPS.

The farm has adapted superb dairy practices in breeding, herd health, soil and grass management and nutrition in tandem with capital building projects resulting in premises of a very high standard.
