Portmarnock will be the Leinster representatives in the Irish Senior Cup when the All-Ireland finals take place at Newlands golf club at the end of the month. The north Dublin club came though the Leinster finals at Skerries at the weekend, just edging out the Grange 3-2 in an exciting final that was decided at the first tie hole. Portmarnock had eased their way past Edenderry and last year's Leinster champions Elm Park while Grange beat Waterford and neighbours Milltown to reach the decider.
Portmarnock were first on the board in the final when David Kelliher beat David Carroll 5 and 4. However, Grange took the top match when Mark Ryan beat Irish international Adrian Morrow 2 and 1. And when Portmarnock's Dermot Snow and Michael McGinley (Grange) both won on the 17th against Simon Cranley and Michael Brett it was down to the last match between Noel Fox and Hugh Hanley.
