Tough old week for the wonderfully named Aberdeen chief executive Gordon Bennett who, the Scottish press alleged, had been cautioned by police for kerb-crawling in the city's red light district back in November, the night before a press conference was held to announce his appointment at the club. Bennett denied the allegation, insisting that he was simply looking for a short cut between his home and the club's ground. "It was embarrassing," admitted Aberdeen spokesman Dave MacDermid. "If he really was doing anything the night before he was due to give a press conference, he is dafter than his name suggests."
