SCHOOLS' RUGBY: Presentation Brothers College, Cork, will be hoping that another generation of the O'Gara/Stringer dynasties can inspire them to victory over St Munchin's in tomorrow's Munster Schools' Senior Cup final (Musgrave Park, 3.0) and deliver a 26th crown. Morgan O'Gara, brother of Ireland outhalf Ronan, and David Stringer, Irish scrumhalf Peter's younger sibling, line out at centre and scrumhalf respectively, writes John O'Sullivan.
PBC have not won the trophy since 1996. The fact that the match is being played in Cork should give them a psychological fillip.
The consensus of the neutrals present is that Presentation were a little fortunate to hold off CBC in the semi-final (6-5) but having enjoyed a little bit of good fortune could make the most of it.
St Munchin's have made a healthy contribution to Irish rugby: Pat Murray, Philip Danaher, Keith Wood, Anthony Foley and Marcus Horan are just a selection of former pupils.
Horan provides a link with the current team as brother David lines out at loosehead prop. He is joined in the front row by hooker Damien Varley, younger brother of Garryowen captain Colin.
St Munchin's boast a very talented team not just in rugby spheres. Several of the starting lineup are also members of the school's hurling team that has reached the Munster Colleges final while a half a dozen play gaelic football for the Limerick minor team.
The Limerick college gained a superb victory over defending champions Rockwell (20-3) in the semi-finals and may well carry off the trophy for the third time.
