Matt McCullough - Ulster and Ireland second row and a member of Royal Portrush Golf Club

Earliest golfing memory? Caddying for my grandfather at Royal Portrush Golf Club (RPGC).

Actually I may have hit my brother in the head with a five-iron before running to tell my dad I had killed him.

First victory? One of the junior tournaments on the Valley course at RPGC. I played every day of the summer so had to win one eventually.

First time to break 90? The Saturday morning fourball. It's a pretty high standard, most of the boys would be single figures now, so I had to be shooting below 90 to keep up with them.

Last bit of equipment? New Scotty Cameron Putter I bought off eBay last week.

Last time you took a cart and why? St Andrews Bay GC on pre-season tour last summer. It was part of the price and had GPS showing maps of the hole and telling you the distances to the pin.

Last time you muttered an obscenity on a course and why? Every second shot at the minute but have been practising so hoping that will improve.

Which of the Majors would you like to attend and why? I have always loved the US Masters since my grandfather placed a bet on Fred Couples in 1992 for my brother and me.

We stayed up every night watching and eventually Couples won. £125 was an awful lot of money for an 11-year-old.

I would also like to go to the British Open.

Ideal fourball: who and where? Tiger Woods, Darren Clarke and my grandfather at Pebble Beach.

One last round on earth: where would it be? Augusta National, although I have yet to play a better course than RPGC.

Ralph Lauren or Lyle and Scott? Ralph Lauren, I'm still young!

Is the Titleist ProV1 worth the extra expense? Definitely worth the expense in the summer on fast greens.

If I've been playing regularly, they do make a difference.

Best club food? A golfer's fry is good anywhere, so its probably good I'm not playing that often.

One-hundred-and-forty yards out from green. Flat. Calm. What's in your hand? An easy eight-iron, maybe a hard nine-iron if I have the belief to swing hard and not miss the ball.

Favourite club in times of trouble? eight-iron.

Parkland or Links? Links, no contest!

Must see golfing holiday destination? The north coast of Ireland is unbelievable: RPGC (Dunluce and The Valley), Portstewart, Castlerock. Honestly more than enough great holes for any golfer.

Hidden gem? Have to say its RPGC, until I play a tougher more beautiful course, its got to be RPGC.

One mulligan in life? To have played more golf at school and my first few years as a rugby player.

Have lost a bit of ground but fully intend to catch up this summer.
