A stunning hole-in-one kept Peter Lawrie just about in touch with the leaders in the Portugal Masters at the Victoria Club in Vilamoura this afternoon.
The Dubliner aced the 200-yard 13th to move to 11-under and while a bogey at the next cost him a stroke, Lawrie remains in with a shout going into tomorrow's final round.
Overnight pacesetter Daniel Vancsik has relinquished that led to England's Ross Fisher (16-under) while Steve Webster has joined Vancsik on 15-under.
Elsewhere, Rory McIlroy's round ended in disappointment, a triple-bogey seven at the last sending him tumbling down the leaderboard.
The Co Down teenager, third and fourth the last two weeks in his second and third professional events, had been in the water for his par on the 589-yard 17th and he put two more balls in the lake.
It meant a one-over 73 and a three-under aggregate, good enough only for a share of 70th place after he resumed in 53rd spot.
