MURRAY CUP: Newbridge College finished stronger than a battling St Paul's in this Vincent Murray Schools Senior Cup tie at Barnhall yesterday.
The north Dublin school went ahead with an early try by flanker David Hegarty, but Newbridge centre Shane Roe crossed and outhalf David Aherne converted to give them a 7-5 interval lead.
Five minutes after the restart St Paul's right wing Alan Nangle touched down after taking a pass from centre Conor Keegan, but a penalty from Aherne and a try from back row Niall Barton restored the lead for Newbridge.
