Clre 1-23 Wterford 1-10 Clare made it look far too easy when they had 13 points to spare over Waterford in Division 2B of the National Football League at Cusack Park, Ennis yesterday.
Clare got off to an ideal start and were 1-2 to no score in front by the seventh minute. Odran O'Dwyer was the goal scorer in the sixth with a 30 yard strike.
By 15 minutes of play, Clare led by 1-5 to 0-1. But a short burst of enthusiasm yielded four Waterford points before Clare returned to dominance and led by 1-11 to 0-5 at the break.
Waterford did manage a goal through Billy Harty early in the second half, but a sharper Clare dominated in all positions.
