UNDER-21 HURLING MUNSTER/Cork 1-16 Waterford 1-3:CORK RECORDED a comfortable win over Waterford at Páirc Uí Chaoimh yesterday evening.
They led by 0-7 to 0-1 at half-time, having shot 12 wides, eight more than Waterford, who went 25 minutes without a score.
Three players from each side got yellow cards, including four in the opening minute.
Cork pulled away in the second half, despite losing centre forward Cian McCarthy to a red card, along with Waterford’s Owen Whelan, in the 36th minute. Both goals came in injury-time, substitute Michael O’Sullivan for Cork and Brian O’Sullivan for Waterford.
Cork footballer Aidan Walsh cried off before the game, suggesting he could play some part against Kerry on Sunday.
