Connacht A scored their second successive win when they defeated Ulster A at Crowley Park on Saturday, inspired by a powerful display in the opening half.

The impressive winners had their first try on seven minutes through full back Simon Allnutt and more tries came in the half from centre Pat Guckian, Allnutt again. The interval score was 27-0. Ulster reduced the gap two minutes into the second half with a try from their Scottish-based flanker, David Watt, and a conversion by out-half Gareth McCullough.

Connacht had tries on the 45th and 55th minutes from Eamon Molloy and Martin Kavanagh, who had both come on the field at the interval. Out-half Owen Cobbe converted both times to leave the score the 41-7.

Ulster finished with tries from out-half Gareth McCullough, who touched down after a 50-metre run, and right-wing Jonathan Davis.
