Annaghdown, kingpins of Galway football in the 1980s, have made it back to the top table of club football in the county with a fully-merited victory over last year's beaten finalists Killanin in the first of the county's semi-finals played in Tuam Stadium yesterday. Central to the Annaghdown 0-8 to 0-6 victory was the performance of some of their young stars - none better than Ronan Leonard at centre back who blocked, covered and passed like a man inspired.
In Meath, defending champions Dunshaughlin endured a nervous finale to their semi-final against Walterstown before coming through 1-11 to 2-7 winners. The champions relied on a sparkling display from Richie Kealy, who contributed 1-5 of the winning total.
The champions will meet Skryne in the final after they beat Dunderry 1-11 to 1-
