Antrim eased to a comfortable win over Limerick at Casement Park, and it could have been more but for wayward shooting.
The winners chalked up 15 wides as they dominated the game for the most of the 70 minutes but it was a fortunate goal which set them on their way in the 10th minute.
A high lob from Peter McCann was fumbled on the Limerick goal line by goalkeeper Eamon Scollard and the in-rushing Sheeny McQuillan fisted the ball home to leave Antrim 1-1 to 0-2 ahead.
The home side all but settled the issue in the five minutes after the restart. They hit five unanswered points in that period to go 1-10 to 0-6 in front and while Limerick did hit back midway through the second half the outcome was never in doubt.
