Two Castlehaven players who would have figured in the postponed Munster club championship semi-final with Laune Rangers last Sunday have appealed to the Cork county board for personal disciplinary hearings following their inclusion in the referee's report of the replay of the county football final between Beara and Castlehaven.

Niall Cahalane and John Cleary, All-Ireland medal winners with Cork in 1989 and 1990, were both cited in the report of the referee, Niall Barrett, following Beara's defeat of Castlehaven. Much will now depend on when the disciplinary hearing takes place. Because Beara is a "regional" rather than a club side Castlehaven are representing Cork in the Munster club championship but their match against the similarly nominated Kerry champions, Laune Rangers, fixed for Castlehaven last Sunday was cancelled when the pitch was deemed unplayable.

The match will now be played on December 7th and Castlehaven will be hoping that the hearing does not take place in the meantime, fearing that suspensions might be handed down.

Cavan are still considering their options for the match against Dublin at Parnell Park following a litany of problems which are likely to deprive them of at least five of their regulars. The players have indicated that they will be unavailable following their latest defeat by Tyrone.

Meanwhile, Dublin footballer Paul Curran and Offaly captain Finbarr Cullen, who were involved in a controversial incident in the National League game between their sides at Parnell Park four weeks ago, appeared before the GAC last night. However, as the incident occurred off the ball and was not caught on video, the GAC do not plan to issue a statement until some time today after both counties have been informed of their decision.
