MUNSTER SENIOR SCHOOLS CUP: Ardscoil Rís 39 Glenstal 6Ardscoil Rís gave due notice they will take a lot of beating this season when they handed out a big defeat at Annacotty.
The scoreline did not do justice to the efforts by Glenstal but they could not get past a powerful Ardscoil defence.
When Kevin O’Keeffe dropped a goal to put Glenstal in front it served as a wake-up call to Ardscoil, who had the aid of the wind in the first half.
Winger Brion Moriarty had the first of the Ardscoil tries and a penalty by Robbie Bourke had them 8-3 in front at the interval.
The second half was a procession of tries for Ardscoil, with Robbie Bourke, Tony Cusack, Colin Ryan, Moriarty for his second, and Cathal Flanagan crossing to ensure the huge win. Bourke convered three of the tries and Glenstal’s only response was a penalty by O’Keeffe.
