MUNSTER COLLEGES SH FINAL Ardscoil Rís 3-19 Charleville CBS 0-3:A GOAL inside 45 seconds sent Limerick's Ardscoil Rís on their way to a landslide win in a most disappointing Dr Harty Cup final at the Gaelic Grounds in Limerick yesterday.
Making their first appearance in the final since 1939 the Co Cork side were never in with a chance.
It was all over long before half-time with Ardscoil Rís going in at the break with a lead of 2-11 to 0-2, Charleville’s scores coming from a free and one from play by Pat OCallaghan, who also scored their third point.
Having won the title for the first time last year – they lost in the All-Ireland final to St Kieran’s, Kilkenny, Ardscoil Rís will not be worried it was probably the most one-sided final ever.
Their coach, Limerick star Niall Moran, said: “I feel sorry for Charleville. You do not get to a final easy and they did not become a bad team overnight. I thought we played well at times, but we have a lot of work to do if we are to make further progress.
“But we have won the Harty again, we will enjoy it, and then knuckle down for the next game.”
