GAA: ULSTER MFC SEMI-FINAL: Armagh 2-18 Fermanagh 0-7:FERMANAGH MAY have caused something of a shock when they defeated Derry in their opening game but from quite early in Clones yesterday there was never any possibility of a repeat performance as a sharper, well-drilled Armagh cantered to a comprehensive victory over an Erne County side who managed just one point, from a free, in the second half.

The sides were level three times in the opening quarter but thereafter Armagh took control, with goals by Patrick Burns in the 17th minute and Calum Cumiskey in the 21st minute helping them to a 2-6 to 0-6 half-time lead.

Within three minutes of the resumption Armagh had extended their lead to 10 points as Paul McGeown imposed himself increasingly in the attack and Ethan Rafferty continued to rule supreme in midfield.

Armagh also could afford the luxury of emptying their bench during the second half but those who were introduced helped keep up the momentum as Fermanagh were increasingly overrun, and indeed, raised their only white flag in stoppage time
