Salthill/Knocknacarra 1-5 Tuam Stars 0-8:SEÁN ARMSTRONG was the hero for Salthill/Knocknacarra as he snatched a last-gasp equaliser at Pearse Stadium yesterday. Tuam Stars, the most prolific winners of the Galway crown but without a title since 1994, seemed set to reach their first final in 16 years until Armstrong struck.
A goal from Seamie Crowe helped Salthill lead by 1-3 to 0-4 at the break but Tuam Stars hit back. Jamie Murphy hit the first of four consecutive points for Tuam and when Curtin, Gaffney and Darren Kelly – seconds after his introduction – all pointed, Tuam found themselves a point up. But Armstrong hit a great point on the turn a minute onto added time.
