St Patrick's/Mater Dei ... 1-20 Uni of Ulster, Jordanstown ... 2-9:St Patrick's/Mater Dei, Dublin, produced a brilliant second half against the breeze to outscore the University of Ulster in this high-class encounter at Jordanstown yesterday. This result means UUJ miss out on a quarter-final place while the Dublin men advance.

St Patrick's/Mater Dei can thank their Kilkenny star Richie Hogan for this victory. He scored nine points - six from play.

UUJ were a goal ahead after four minutes from Randal McDonnell.

The Dublin college were rocked by a second UUJ goal from Brendan Ennis and although the St Patrick's/Mater Dei came back to level, a Caoither Cunning point gave UUJ a 2-5 to 0-10 half-time lead.

St Patrick's/Mater Dei then sent over 10 points and to seal victory. Mark Arthur scored a goal five minutes from time.
