Outgoing Leinster Pitch and Putt president, Sean Breen of Seapoint and vice-president Michael Murphy of Old County will be returned unopposed when the annual general meeting of the Leinster Council PPUI takes place at the Greville Arms Hotel in Mullingar on Sunday next.

Also returned unopposed will be treasurer Breda Brophy of McDonagh's Kildare while Mary Farrell of Gael Colmcille in Kells opposes Leinster secretary Annie Galvin (Tullamore). Farrell, if unsuccessful in her bid for the secretary position will oppose incumbent competitions secretary Jim Finglas.

With Liam Sherry stepping down as registrar six hopefuls will vie for the vacant position - Gary Foy (Lucan), Iris Cunningham (Bellewstown), David Reddan (Custume, Athlone), Mary Farrell, Liam Nelis (Laytown) and Terry Allen (Royal Meath).

There are 20 motions and three recommendations down for discussion in what should be a lively meeting. The motions are dominated by suggested handicap changes while an interesting recommendation is that the four semi-finalists in the National Matchplay championship be exempt from prequalifying the following year.
