I'm converted. For a long time now, I've found it hard to find a driver that I could trust, that I had total faith in. So I was prone to use a three-wood off the tee rather than pulling out the driver.
This club has changed me. It's great. The one I had was slightly whippy and not as stiff as other drivers I've attempted to use, but that just adds to the power when you connect properly, and I found that happened almost all the time.
It really is a lovely club, and the head is not ridiculously oversized. I found it to be a nice weight - quite light - and I was surprised at the accuracy that I had with it. It wasn't just accuracy, though, because I also got what I considered to be very good length for someone off my handicap. I was hitting the ball 240 yards to 250 yards consistently, and that promotes a lot of confidence in your game.
Initially, I was slow to use the club because of my past record with drivers which just left me with shattered confidence. I've tried quite a number of drivers, but none ever gave me this high level of trust.
Anyone who knows the 16th hole at the K Club, called "Michael's Favourite", will agree that it is one of the most intimidating driving holes in the country. In fact, on my previous visits there, I've never played it well. The other day, however, I was fortunate to enjoy a round with Ernie Jones there and hit a particularly good drive at that hole, which sums up for me the sort of confidence that the club has given me on the tee.
It is the sort of club I'd love to keep in my bag. Very nice. First class.
