Wales Coach: Scott Johnson yesterday ended speculation over his future by confirming he is to join Australia's coaching team - ending the Welsh Rugby Union's hopes of retaining his services.
As expected, Johnson will return Down Under in May after agreeing a three-year contract to become the Wallabies' attack coach, linking up with the new supremo, John Connolly.
The 43-year-old has spent four years in Wales, initially as skills expert before taking over as caretaker-coach following the shock departure of Mike Ruddock.
Johnson was approached by the Australia Rugby Union at the start of the month and the desire to be reunited with his family prompted him to accept their offer.
He said: "I have loved every single moment of my time here in Wales - it is one of the greatest rugby communities and countries in the world.
"It has become my home and I will be sorry to leave. It has not been an easy decision for me to reach but, for once, I have had to put my family first."
