Australia defeated Ireland 75-43 in the final game in the Under-17 International Youth Series yesterday, completing a clean sweep in the overall series.
The Australians' tally of one goal, 18 overs and 15 behinds (75 points) was too good for an Irish side who scored four goals, five overs and four behinds (43 points).
The touring Irish made a promising start and led by four points after the first quarter. However, the Australians, with the aid of a strong breeze, hit back to lead by 27 points at the main break. The Australians superior fitness told in the final quarter as they ran out comfortable winner by 32 points.
