Back in fitness battle

Neil Back is battling to be fit for England's Calcutta Cup match against Scotland at Twickenham on Saturday.

England boss Clive Woodward has named Back in an unchanged team following the record 80-23 Six Nations victory over Italy 10 days ago. But the Leicester flanker, who suffered a knee injury during that game, has not yet resumed full training.

Woodward is confident the 39times capped openside will make it, enabling him to continue with his back-row unit of Back, Richard Hill and Lawrence Dallaglio for a 14th successive Test.

Back's Leicester colleague Martin Corry is on standby though, awaiting a possible first England start since the June 1999 Centenary Test against Australia in Sydney.
