"I would be angry at the whole run of the last couple of weeks. If the county board weren't happy and wanted to make a change they should have told us two weeks ago and we all could have walked away gracefully.
"To drag it down to this level was unnecessary, and doesn't respect us or the players. (County chairman) John Bailey has to stand up and be counted for the decision he made, and he cannot say it was a club decision. We were either doing a good job or we weren't and he should have been able to tell us that. We've gone through two weeks now of ridiculous carry-on in Dublin football relationships that was just so unnecessary.
"I would be disappointed with John Bailey because of the way he supported us after the Kerry match: if he wasn't happy with us and wanted to change his mind he should have given us the reasons why. That's the way it is in any business or in any walk of life. Tell me the reasons why and I can deal with that, but don't hide behind the hands."

"The word bitterness has come up here and if you focused in on what happened in the last week then you would be bitter. But we've had three and a half years working together, and at the start we set out to do something for Dublin football. When we took over in 1997 Dublin was on the way down and I've no doubt that we're leaving a Dublin football team on the way up.
"We sat down at the start of the year and asked them to allow their performances in the championship reflect the character and honesty that they have. And in the games this year, against Offaly and Meath, the rebounding for Sligo and the two games against Kerry, we felt we had a football team on the field that Dublin would be delighted to support.
"I think the support we had in Thurles and the feel-good factor that we had there made me think that this was a success and that we were going in the right direction. So the vote of Monday night was a big disappointment.
"But I would thank all the players on the panel and those who came through the panel and made a contribution, I just hope for their sake that they can go on and make a contribution."

"My immediate reaction on the vote was that we were the casualties of an unhappy process. The wounds are there but they will heal in time. The only agenda the four of us had and obviously the team was the success of Dublin football, and we strove to our utmost to achieve that goal.
"So I share the opinion that we were very close to success. It's been a very enriching experience to work with these three lads. And there's very few people of the calibre of Tom Carr involved in football, and the same with Richie and John.
"Tom always took honest decisions and the last week has been unfortunate for him. I can be proud to have shared a stage with him, even though I knew the stage was not going to be there for all time. But I'm sad we weren't given the opportunity to walk out the front door with our heads held high.
"And I would also thank Dessie Farrell, not just in the context of this. He is a rare type of character, and I definitely think he will manage the Dublin team in the future because he has outstanding qualities. So I'd like to think him and all the squad for the thrilling experience."
