Norman Williamson faces a lengthy spell on the sidelines after breaking his right leg at Punchestown yesterday, writes Brian O'Connor. Williamson was unseated from Camden West at the third last of the handicap chase and was taken to Naas Hospital where x-rays were taken. He was then taken to Tallaght hospital.
"He has fractured the lower third of his right leg," said the Turf Club medical officer, Walter Halley. "He also got a concussion and he was put in a full neck support pending clarification of the x-rays. But I would say his neck and back are OK." Williamson was scheduled to have five rides today including Wicked Crack in the Heineken Gold Cup.
