TALE GALE looked set to win a maiden hurdle at Galway only to be caught on the post by the favourite Vicar Street, but Tom Bergin's charge renews rivalry on 7lb better terms in today's Barrys Bakery Novice Hurdle at Tralee. However, the Michael Cunningham trained Bamapour meets Vicar Street 11lb better for a two and a half length beating at Galway and, while running over a much shorter distance, does have the experience.
Bamapour jumped poorly at Roscommon last time out but ran well in Galway's Dawn Milk Handicap Hurdle to finish third behind Father Rector and Vicar Street. Successful in a conditions hurdle at Navan in June, Bamapour may have Tale Gale to beat.
The WinElectric Paget Cup Chase may be won by Very Little, who made his weight advantage tell against Tryfirion at Roscommon.
Paddy Prendergast may win the Paddy Kearns Handicap Hurdle with Tarajan, who won at Killarney and Tipperary. Frau Dante, runner up to him at Tipperary, has her chance in the Tom McGiff Maiden Hurdle.
Aidan O'Brien is taken to win the Brownes Cash Stores Maiden Hurdle with Lewisham.
