Golf:Banbridge and Kilkenny booked their places in Barton Shield final after negotiating their respective semi-finals against Galway and Youghal on the opening day of the Bulmers sponsored All-Ireland Cup and Shields finals at Tullamore Golf Club in Offaly.
Ulster champions Banbridge defeated their Connacht counterparts Galway by two holes, while Leinster representatives Kilkenny emerged winners (three holes) against Munster champions Youghal.
Banbridge and Kilkenny will contest the final tomorrow at noon.
In the day's other action Oughterard defeated Castle 3-2 in the first Junior Cup semi-final, while Malone denied Co Tipperary 3.5-1.5. Oughterard and Malone meet in tomorrow's final from 11am.
