DARTS:Raymond van Barneveld successfully defended his UK Open title last night with a 16-8 victory over Vincent van der Voort in an all-Dutch final at Bolton's Reebok Stadium.

The five-time world champion retained the crown in a style similar to how he captured it last year, firstly by repeating his quarter-final success against Phil Taylor and then following up with two more comprehensive wins.

Taylor was beaten 11-4, Colin Lloyd put to the sword by the same scoreline in the semi-finals and Van der Voort also dispatched with some comfort.

The writing was on the wall for Van der Voort from the second leg of the final when 'Barney' took out a 149 checkout for a 2-0 lead.
