Few managers make their Premiership debut with more admirers than Danny Wilson (pictured) but even the most ardent of them must reckon that the shortcomings in his pool of players are so many and gaping that Barnsley together with their 17,000 fun-loving season ticket holders are destined to drop straight back down again.
Wilson had very little cash with which to bolster last year's panel and a great deal will depend on how well Macedonia's international striker Georgi Hristov fares in the Premiership. Otherwise the team's fate will largely rest on the successful reproduction of last season's neat passing game and great team spirit. A couple of bad defeats early on, however, and both of those could quickly evaporate.
