HIGH DRAMA at Donnybrook last evening saw the Irish number one and top seed Scott Barron hobble out of the Irish Close championships with a groin strain.Cormac Jennings in a third round match.

Tommy Hamilton, the holder and number three seed, made an impressive advance to the quarter finals. Against John Rendina, he showed good form for a 6-I, 6- 4 win and will face Harvard student Joe Green from Dublin tonight.

Hamilton's fellow international John Doran also moved through to the quarter finals, ousting Neal Fagan, but surprisingly losing five games en route.
