CRICKET:England official David Morgan will stand against India's Sharad Pawar for the post of International Cricket Council (ICC) president this year.

The England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB) chairman and the president of the Board of Control for Cricket in India were the only names put forward before nominations closed on New Year's day.

The ICC will vote on a successor to outgoing president Percy Sonn in July.

Morgan, who was recently granted a third term at the helm of the ECB, is believed to have the support of Australia and New Zealand while Pawar is backed by the Asian bloc.
