Dominic Crotty's (above) rehabilitation after injury disrupted his career in 1997 has gathered pace this season. The Garryowen player has enjoyed a series of fine performances for Munster during their interprovincial success and passage to the European Cup quarterfinals. He has also translated that form to the A international arena, making the most of injuries to Peter McKenna and Leicester's Geordan Murphy.
Crotty won the last of his four caps in the 2625 victory over Wales in 1997 and was unfortunate in that he played out of position on the wing. At one stage he considered moving to the centre, a position that many believe would suit his talents. However he is now back playing at a consistently high level at full back and can harbour genuine hopes of a return to the national squad.
