IT will seem like turning the clock back for Lillian Behan of The Curragh when she lines up in the British women's Open Amateur Strokeplay Championship over the tough Royal Liverpool course at Hoylake today.

This will be the first British championship for Behan since being reinstated as an amateur following a disappointing spell in the paid ranks. She won this title at Ganton in 1985.

Kilkenny's Eileen Rose Power will have a point to prove, too, as she launches a bid for the honours. She was disappointed to be left out of the Curtis Cup side which beat the Americans at Killarney last weekend.
