Belvedere College booked their quarter final place in impressive style when they demolished CUS 430 at Suttonians yesterday.
The Belvedere boys ran in seven tries in the process, with fullback David O'Reilly grabbing a brace, while CUS never really got started.
The demolition job began after just five minutes when O'Reilly received a pass from out-half John Kennedy on the CUS 22 and ran in to touch down in the right hand corner, centre Patrick Hobbs added the conversion.
Then, seven minutes later, left winger Ian Flynn received a close range pass from scrum-half Mark Broe and dived over in the left hand corner, converted by O'Reilly. Then on 19 minutes, centre Brian McLaughlin latched on to a pass five meters out and dived over in the left hand corner, O'Reilly converting.
Just before the break, Belvedere added their fourth try when openside flanker Richard Leyden drove over on the left, O'Reilly again converting, to make it 28-0 at half-time.
The second half saw Belvedere's three further tries, starting with O'Reilly's second on 40 minutes, followed quickly by a try from number eight David O'Brien and finishing with a fine effort by prop Martin Hayes, to seal it.
