BOHEMIANS' captain, Robbie Best, is out of this evening's UEFA Cup preliminary round second leg game against Dinamo Minsk (kick-off 4 p.m. Irish time) in Belarus this evening.
Best went over on his ankle in training last night and aggravated the injury he sustained in the first leg last week.
It is 14 years since a National League side won an away leg of a European tie, but Bohemians are still surprisingly, upbeat. They go into action confident of upsetting a Dinamo team they would probably have beaten at Dalymount Park last week in the first leg but for Brian Mooney's early sending-off.
But despite that 1-1 draw, and with Dinamo holding the ad vantage of that away goal, Bohemians' manager, Turlough O'Connor, believes his side can shock Dinamo.
"We certainly surprised them with the quality of our football last week and we are quite capable of doing it again, O'Connor said.
"The onus is now on them to come out and play a bit more than they did in the first leg and that should suit us.
"They will have to score at least twice to kill us off, so they will have to come at us. If they don't we are only a goal away from staying in the tie and that should unnerve them. But Best pulling out so late is a blow."
O'Connor will now play Tommy Byrne at left back and push Eoin Mullan into central defence alongside Maurice O'Driscoll.
That also means a reshuffle in midfield with the strikers from the first leg Warren Parkes and Derek Swan slotting into wide positions in a five man midfield. That means Padraigh Dully is recalled as the lone striker.
"The first 25 minutes or so will be crucial. If we can hold them till then, I feel we could be in for a memorable night.
"Our three central midfielders, Derek McGrath, Peter Hanrahan and Jonathan Prizeman are vital to our game plan. I will instruct Peter to play a defensive role in midfield with Derek and Jonathan pushing on as much as possible in support," added O'Connor.
