SATURATION television coverage of racing and betting by the remote control button is on the cards in the near future, according to Channel 4 Racing's chief executive John Fairley.

"Sky have had poor figures, for their racing but it seems' likely that racing will feature, on one of their 150 channels. Fairly soon now another 18 channels might be available to other viewers and Channel 4 will have at least one. We regard racing as a significant target for increasing coverage.

"But the most enticing prospect is that of digital programming. My view is that the dam will burst and gambling via the remote control will be allowed."
