Thomas Bjorn, who beat Tiger Woods head-to-head over 72 holes in Dubai in March, will get to play another 36 holes at least with the world number one in the US Open next week.

The Dane has been drawn with defending champion Woods and American amateur champion Jeff Quinney in the first two rounds of the event which could see Woods capture an incredible fifth successive Major title.

They tee off at 12.30 p.m. next Thursday - 6.30 p.m. Irish time - and in the group immediately behind Colin Montgomerie, runner-up in the championship in 1994 and 1997.

Montgomerie is paired with Americans Jim Furyk and Frank Lickliter, while Lee Westwood partners Ryder Cup opponents Davis Love and Tom Lehman and Darren Clarke has Harrison Frazar and Kirk Triplett for company.
