So, the Tiger has scooped the loot - and, of course, the claret jug - and headed back across the Atlantic to leave the cream of Europe to fight it out for themselves in the Dutch Open, starting on Thursday.
As you'd expect, Lee Westwood has been installed as 7 to 2 favourite to maintain a preBritish Open streak that saw him win the European Grand Prix and the European Open in his two tournaments prior to the Open.
Westwood is good, but he is no Tiger Woods, and so the odds would appear a little bit tight. Thomas Bjorn, who has started to show some really decent form and who was tied-second to Woods at St Andrews, looks like a decent bet at 12 to 1. The great Dane has managed to move to sixth in the European money list. For each-way value, the odds of 33 to 1 about Gary Orr look a little tempting.
7-2 - Lee Westwood (England).

12-1 - Thomas Bjorn (Denmark).

20-1 - Bernhard Langer (Germany), John Houston (USA).
