2.00I know that Tom Taaffe has been training Kings Advocate with this race in mind for some time. He ran him over hurdles at two miles on his last start and that should put him right. This trip will suit and so will the ground.
Kings Advocate ran my horse, One Cool Cookie, close at Limerick over Christmas and that's a decent piece of form. Bob Hall could be the best of the English. He beat Nicanor at Navan one day last year and he's with Jonjo now.
Verdict:Kings Advocate
2.35I have to go for Monet's Garden. I think they were right to not run in the two miler. This looks to be his proper trip. I reckon Racing Demon is his biggest danger. He looks a very smart horse at his best. The trip will be ideal for Hi Cloy but I don't know if he will settle well enough to be able to find anything at the end. At his best though, he must have an each way chance.
Verdict:Monet's Garden
3.15Black Jack Ketchum is a good thing. He is a hell of a horse. I don't know what happened to him the last day but Jonjo would not be running him if he wasn't 100 per cent right.
It could have been the ground that beat him on his last start. It was very heavy. Or he might just have lost his action. But every horse is entitled to one bad run and I reckon that was Black Jack Ketchum's bad run out of the way. I think he is the real thing. Inglis Drever looks a danger and Asian Maze could run well too, but they're running for place money.
Verdict:Black Jack Ketchum
4.00Reveillez is the horse I like for this because the ground looks to be coming right for him. He won the Jewson in great style last year and on decent going he looks to be a very smart type. The ground has also come right for Idole First and Venetia Williams's horse looks a likely danger. He won the Coral Cup around here a couple of years ago and course form is always a big help.
Verdict:Reveillez
4.40Gungadu isn't the best jumper in the race but they will not go very fast in a four miler and he should be able to get away with it. He has a lot of ability and he looks the most talented horse in the race. If there is a danger, Mac Three might go well on this ground.
Verdict:Gungadu
5.20Having ridden a Pertemps winner myself, I know that three miles around here over hurdles takes a bit of getting and I have a sneaky feeling that Rhinestone Cowboy might go well.
He has been dropped a few pounds compared to when he was a top horse and JP Magnier rides him well and has always got a good tune out of the horse.
Another each way horse I like in this is Freetown. He has run well around here before and I like the booking of Ruby Walsh by the Scottish trainer Len Lungo.
Verdict:Rhinestone Cowboy
