Sligo Rovers 1 Bohemians 2:STEPHEN TRAYNOR and man-of-the-match Anto Flood were the heroes as never-say-die Bohemians battled back from a goal down to pip Sligo Rovers at the Showgrounds last night

A Killian Brennan ball into the box on 55 minutes was picked up by Ollie Cahill whose flick was rifled to the net by Stephen Traynor to cancel out Sligo’s opener.

Bohemians went in front after 62 minutes when the Sligo goalkeeper Brendan Clarke failed to hold the ball from a Brennan free kick and Flood was on hand to drill the rebound to the net.

Keith Buckley had a chance to extend the visitors’ lead late in the game but his effort sailed over Clarke’s bar.

Bohemians goalkeeper Chris O’Connor gathered an Aaron Greene effort after fine skill by Joseph Ndo three minutes into the first half.

Sligo had taken the lead in the 12th minute when an Eoin Doyle shot beat O’Connor at the near post and Doyle went close again a minute later with a headed effort that whistled just a foot past the post.

The Bohemians defence was kept on its toes in the opening minutes but up front the Gypsies struggled to create scoring opportunities.

Flood had a chance three minutes before half-time but Clarke gathered the ball without too much difficulty.
